Who is Karl-Gustav?

I'm Karl-Gustav from Estonia 🇪🇪, a small but mighty country of 1.3 million inhabitants. I've always been fascinated by building things and deeply passionate about finance. At just 13, I was already devouring finance and economics books, diving into investing - not just for returns, but with a vision of collaborating towards something bigger.

This early passion led me to study economics at university. For my bachelor's thesis, I developed a profitable trading strategy using derivatives on S&P index fund. While I sometimes wish I'd started coding earlier, my background in finance has given me a unique perspective on technology.

Fascinated by the intersection of finance and technology, I pursued a master's in Computer Science at the University of Tartu. My research focused on making AI systems more transparent, culminating in a thesis on Explainable AI.

My professional journey started at Wise, where I interned in the Speed team, witnessing firsthand what it takes to ensure transfers arrive within 20 seconds. Later, in the AML team, I worked on ensuring secure and compliant money transfers while maintaining transparency about fund sources.

At Seldon, I contributed to their machine learning platform, making complex ML pipeline deployments more accessible and interpretable. My time at Papercup working on AI voices taught me valuable lessons about accuracy - while achieving 50% accuracy is relatively straightforward, pushing for higher precision presents significant challenges.

Most recently, I was a Founder in Residence at Entrepreneur First, an excellent program that exposed me to entrepreneurship and connected me with some of the brightest minds globally.

My ultimate ambition is to build something transformative that positively impacts millions of lives. If you share this vision of creating meaningful change at scale, let's connect and explore how we can build something extraordinary together.

I take my work seriously, but not myself - you might find me sharing memes at 1 AM right after squashing a particularly tricky bug. When I'm not coding or thinking about the next big thing, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and taking long walks (an underrated activity if you ask me).

I'm deeply committed to humanity's progress and believe our best days lie ahead. But achieving this requires collaboration.
So let's build and ship together! 🚀
